We have just had the following by email from SGN:

"We're carrying out emergency investigation on our network along Speldhurst Road after several gas leaks were identified on Friday evening.

For everyone's safety, we've needed to close the road in both directions from the junction with Lampington Row to the junction with Winstone Scott Avenue. A signed diversion route is in place for affected motorists.

It's too early to say how long it will take to complete our repairs. We’re working as quickly and safely as possible to repair our network and will keep you updated on our progress."

Please note, our Clerk spoke to the workers at the road closure earlier and they estimate 2-3 weeks work.

We will do our best to hold SGN accountable for getting the work done asap and communicating more effectively than previously. They have now updated https://one.network/uk; this website contains details of current and upcoming road closures.
