If you think you might have some time and appetite for serving your local community, we are now looking to co-opt a new Parish Councillor. Our applications criteria is simple: we welcome British, EU & Commonwealth citizens aged 18 years plus.

Becoming a Councillor is a unique experience. You'll be part of the democratic decision-making that affects local life from environment to highways, planning and more. Alongside attending meetings and voting on parish matters, you can also get hands-on with work like helping maintain local footpaths.

And while you might apply because you’d like to do your bit, being a Councillor can benefit YOU too. It can make your CV stand out, whether you're beginning your career, returning to work or building a non-executive portfolio. It also helps you get to know other residents in a friendly and inclusive environment, and although the role isn't voluntary work in the strictest sense, the feeling of satisfaction is the same.

The deadlne for applications is 27th June. If in the meantime you’re interested in finding out more, why not have a chat with one of our Councillors? You can contact the Council Office to arrange this.
