STATEMENT RE CROWBOROUGH ARMY TRAINING CAMP

Speldhurst Parish Council is aware of the proposed accommodation of asylum seekers at the Crowborough army training camp.

We recognise that this situation may be unsettling or concerning for some residents. We welcome input from our residents on the matter and will continue to monitor the ways this may affect our parish.

The proposed accommodation site lies within the Wealden District Council area. Speldhurst Parish falls under Tunbridge Wells Borough Council. Speldhurst Parish Council has no decision-making authority relating to this issue, nor can it influence matters taking place outside its administrative area.
