We have added two new categories to our Report It page as part of our attempts to tackle air traffic issues and road safety in the parish, and now we need your help!

Firstly, we would like you to tell us if you see deer in the road when driving through Ashurst, Langton Green, Old Groombridge, or Speldhurst. Let us know where, when and roughly how many, and if you have a passenger with you who can safely take a photo of them that would be great. We are attempting to get additional deer warning signs, but Kent Highways have told us they need to see evidence of frequent deer sightings before they will progress these. Our priority is Groombridge Hill because this has been most frequently reported to us as a hotspot for collisions and near misses. But it would be useful to identify other locations too, so please do get in touch.

Secondly, we want you tell us if you spot a plane that seems to be flying unusually low. We recently wrote to National Air Traffic Services (NATS) about our concerns that Emirates A380 jets – among others - fly very low over our area. NATS wrote back asking us for flight data so they can investigate. For more information visit our Report It page, where you will find instructions on how to send us details of any low-flying planes you see. With the prospect of a second full runway at Gatwick Airport we want to do what we can to help improve air traffic over Speldhurst parish, and really appreciate you taking the time to help us with this.
