Scheduled Road Closures This Summer

We have had a number of advance road closure notifications through from Kent County Council this week.

The main one to be aware of is for 6 days of overnight closures on the A264 Langton Road starting Friday 19th July, when the road will be closed for resurfacing between Dornden Drive and Rusthall Road from 8.00 pm until 5.00 am each night.

We have also had 2 different one day road closure notifications which will affect Speldhurst on Friday 12th July. The first one is for:

- Barden Road between the junction of Furzefield Avenue and Barden Cottage (heading out of Speldhurst village towards Bidborough).

And the other one is for:

- SpeldhurstHill/Etherington Hill/Speldhurst Road between the junction of Barden Road and Speldhurst Hill, and Lady's Gift Road in Southborough.

Both road closures are for Kent Highways to 'improve the road surface'. So, if you use either of these routes to get to Bidborough/Tonbridge or Southborough, you might want to avoid them on that day.

We also advise that you check throughout the summer months, as there are likely to be more road works scheduled for the school holidays which we haven't heard about yet. We find that this site is the most reliable source of up to date information for scheduled and emergency road closures, so definitely worth having saved in your favourites bar.
