We have receved the following progress update from SGN about the road closure on Pembury Road:

I am writing to give you all a brief update on the progress of work on Pembury Road Tunbridge Wells

Work started as planned on Monday 24 July. Pembury Road has been closed between the junction of Halls Hole/Blackhurst Lane and the Junction with the A21. The team have made good progress and have now laid approximately 360m of new plastic pipe. Work is ongoing to prepare for next week where we plan to achieve a similar amount of pipe lay. Issues on the diversion route were initially experienced, however working in consultation with Kent Highways and local stakeholders we have arranged for additional signage to be placed and publicised the separate HGV diversion on our website and media channels. We will continue to engage with stakeholders to ensure this work continues safely, efficiently and progress is maintained.

Thank you all for your patience and understanding while we carry out this essential work.
