We have now made further progress in re-opening the play areas and gym equipment at Langton Green Recreation Ground. We have carried out a risk assessment on the younger children's play area, which we will publish shortly. We have confimed with our insurers that we have everything necessary in place to re-open, and signage containing guidelines for how to use the play equipment is at the printers. Once this signage is in place we will re-open, hopefull to coincide with the pavillion cafe re-opening on Wednesday 8th July. As always, a responsible adult should go with young children when they use the play area, and it is important that parents and carers take time to read our guidelines, which aim to cut the risk of spreading Coronavirus. With that said, using the equipment will be at your own risk.
The Gyrospiral, Zipwire and gym equipment for older children and adults will remain closed for longer. Government guidance around re-opening these types of apparatus is complex and while we have carried out preliminary risk assessments, we need more time to produce guidelines for safe use. There are still posters up stating that this equipment is closed, so please do not use for now.
With only a week's notice between the Government's relaxation of rules and the re-opening date of 4th July, we worked hard to re-open promptly and safely. This co-incided with our independent annual playground inspection, assessing the overall safety of our play equipment. The inspection took place last week and we can officially report that our apparatus is safe to use.
