Councillor Neil Barrington-Johnson

I moved to Langton Green with my wife and two sons in 2002. When I retired in 2013, I wanted to contribute to the community I enjoy living in, and I joined the Langton Green Village Society Committee, followed shortly after by responding to a co-option request for Speldhurst Parish Council and I joined the Council in May 2014.

I had 9 very enjoyable (and sometimes challenging) years on SPC, six of them as Chair (six because my five-year term expired in 2020 and as this was in the depths of Covid our 5-year limit was waived as a practicality).

After nine years on the council, I felt it was time to step aside but having had a break for a couple of years I am keen to contribute again.

With SPC down on Councillor numbers it seemed appropriate to offer myself which I have done and hope very much to work with the current councillors and staff of SPC, those I know and those new to me.
