Councillor James Farley
I am a long-standing resident of the Speldhurst Parish, having moved to Langton Green in 1993 when he joined Kent Police. He now lives in Speldhurst with his family, where he and his wife have raised three children.
After a distinguished 30-year career with Kent Police, I retired as a Detective Inspector in 2023. My professional background provides a strong foundation in problem-solving, community engagement, and ensuring public safety—skills I'm is keen on using whilst working with the Parish Council.
I now run a local mobile coffee business, which operates from a converted horse trailer. This venture has provided a valuable opportunity to interact with local residents on a regular basis, enabling me to understand community needs and sentiment first-hand.
Having enjoyed life in the parish for over three decades, I am committed to contributing more to the community and aim to ensure the parish remains a thriving and safe place to live by focusing on addressing traffic concerns and advocating for responsible development. I value community connection and transparency and am eager to effectively represent the views of all local residents.
