Presenting the Kent Association of Local Councils (KALC) Community Award is a part of the Annual Parish Meeting that we look forward to every year. Last year we gave this award - which acknowledges and gives recognition to those that have made a significant contribution to their local community - to Julia Soyke from Ashurst.

Julia spent an impressive 20 years as a Parish Councillor, during which time she also served as Borough Councillor and Mayor. As well as benefitting from her impressive knowledge of environmental, planning and arboreal matters, we also saw Julia work tirelessly at more hands-on tasks, from litter picking to helping maintain footpaths.

At tomorrow night's meeting we will present the 2024 award, which will be a special moment for all involved

We do hope you'll join us at Speldhurst Primary School in the school hall, with drinks served from 7 pm and a meeting start time of 7.30.
