We are aware of concern on social media that food waste is being thrown into green bins and emptied all in one go on collection day. We contacted Paul Shipley, Contract Services Manager at TWBC, who thanked us for bring this to his attention. He said the waste lorries have collected over 4 tonnes of food waste in 2 weeks - double what was initially expected. He then contacted the contractor, stating that this practise is not acceptable, and they have promised to ensure the process is being followed correctly. They will remind the relevant collection crews servicing the area of the importance of collecting all of the waste streams separately,

If you notice anything wrong with your waste collection, please contact  Paul.Shipley@TunbridgeWells.gov.uk.
