Road Closures in Speldhurst Friday 10th – Sunday 12th May

Friday the 10th May marks the start of a busy couple of days for repairs and road closures in Speldhurst. The village Pram Race on Sunday the 12th May will also mean restricted routes for part of the day. Here are the some of the roads Kent County Council advise you to avoid if you’re heading out in the car:

  1. Road surface improvement works are programmed to start on the 10th May 2019 and should take 2 days to complete. These activities will be undertaken during a working window between the hours of 9.30am and 3.30pm. Etherington Hill, Speldhurst - between the junction of Barden Road and “Little Bote House” (red gateway) – will be affected.

  2. Further road surface improvement works are programmed to start on the 11th May 2019 and should take 1 day to complete. These activities will be undertaken during a working window between the hours of 9.30am and 3.30pm. Barden Road, Speldhurst - between the junctions of Speldhurst Hill and Furzefield Avenue - will be affected.

  3. Speldhurst Pram Race Temporary Road Closure For the safety of the public whilst an event is being held on the highway, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to restrict traffic between 12noon and 1.30pm on Sunday the 12th May. Various roads will be affected as listed below:

  • Barden Road

  • Speldhurst Hill

  • Penshurst Road

  • St Mary’s
